Precautions

It is very important to tell your doctor if you have:

  • An allergic reaction to calcium carbonate or any other drugs
  • Are taking other prescription and non-prescription medications, especially digoxin (Lanoxin), etidronate (Didronel), phenytoin (Dilantin), tetracycline (Sumycin) and vitamins. You should not take calcium carbonate within 1-2 hours of taking other medicines, because it may reduce the effectiveness of the other medicine.
