What is Lecithine

Lecithin is a dietary supplement. It is a substance that cell membranes of plants and animals contain. It is used as a food and drug additive. There are two main types of the supplement: soy lecithin and egg lecithin.


Side effects of Lecithine

The known possible side effects of licithin are:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain or fullness
  • Rash or hives
  • Itching
  • Swelling of the lips, mouth or throat
  • Wheezing or difficulty breathing


Indication

Lecithin is a drug additive available as a dietary supplement. It can be useful for conditions such as bipolar disorder, Alzheimer's disease and high cholesterol.


Precautions

Very large doses may be harmful and can produce nausea, dizziness or diarrhea.


Dosage forms

The recommended dose is 1 to 2 soft gels daily with a meal or as your doctor prescribes.
