Indication

Meridia acts by making you feel full more quickly. It works in the brain where it increases the levels of certain brain chemicals (including serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine) in certain areas of the brain. Meridia does not increase the brain chemicals production. It prevents the "reuptake" of the chemicals.

Meridia stops the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine and more of these chemicals stay in the space between the brain's nerve cells. By means of this, the chemicals activate the receptors on the next nerve cell. Such combination of actions gives you a sense of fullness and prevents eating more. However it does not impact on your appetite.
