Side effects of Methamphetamine
The common side effects of Methamphetamine include:
- Suicidal thoughts
- Confusion
- Chest tightness
- Chest pain or heart palpitations
- Shortness of breath
- More outgoing or aggressive behavior than normal
- Strange behavior
- Hallucinations (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not really there)
- Agitation or restlessness
- Uncontrolled movements of the head, neck, mouth, arms, or legs (known as tics)
- Signs of an allergic reaction: unexplained rash; itching; hives; trouble breathing; unexplained swelling

Precautions
It is very important to inform your doctor if you have:
- Heart problems of any kind, including heart disease,congestive heart failure, certain irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias) or a recent heart attack
- Agitation
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Tourette syndrome
- Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
- Glaucoma (a condition of the eye)
- Diabetes
- A history of drug abuse or alcohol abuse
- Any allergies including allergies to foods, dyes or preservatives
- Are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
Dosage forms
Methamphetamine dose for ADHD
For many children at the age of 6 years and older with ADHD, the recommended starting dose is 5 mg once or twice daily. Your doctor may increase the methamphetamine dose by 5 mg per week if necessary. Typically, children being treated for ADHD take a total of 20 to 25 mg of methamphetamine daily.
Methamphetamine dose for Obesity
The recommended methamphetamine dose for weight loss is 5 mg taken half an hour before each meal. Methamphetamine should not be used for weight loss for more than a few weeks. Children under the age of 12 should not use methamphetamine for weight loss.
