Ovide is a medication that is release in a form of lotion. It was approved by FDA as a first line head lice treatment. Studies show that Ovide kills head lice and their nits.

- temporary increase in dandruff
Ovide is an anti-parasite medication that is aimed for the treatment of head lice. It is an organophosphate agent which works as a pediculicide by inhibiting cholinesterase activity in vivo. Ovide Lotion is used in patients infected with Pediculus humanus capitis of the scalp hair.
You should discuss safeness of the medication with your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- allergy to ovide
- breast-feeding a baby
- in children who are younger than 6 years old
The treatment plan and the dose should be discussed by your doctor. This medicine is not for orel administration. Ovide is for use only on your scalp. It is not recommended to use the medicne in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
