What is Sodium Fluoride

Sodium Fluoride is a medicine that is used to prevent cavities. It makes teeth stronger and more resistant to decay caused by acid and bacteria.


Side effects of Sodium Fluoride

You should stop taking Sodium Fluoride and visit your doctor immediately if you have severe allergic reactions such as rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.


Indication

Sodium Fluoride is used to prevent cavities.


Precautions

Before using Sodium Fluoride you should inform your doctor if you:

  • are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding;
  • are taking any medicine, herbal preparation or dietary supplement;
  • have allergies to medicines, foods or other substances;
  • have joint pain, severe kidney problems or stomach or intestinal ulcers.


Dosage forms

You should use Sodium Fluoride as directed by your doctor. The dosage depends on your age and the fluoride content in your water supply.
