What is Zinc oxide ointment

Zinc oxide is a mineral which is aimed for treating a variety of skin conditions all over the world. Zinc oxide can be used in ointments, creams, and lotions to protect against sunburn and other damage to the skin caused by ultraviolet light. Zinc oxide ointment can relieve a number of mild skin conditions, e.g. diaper rash, pimples and minor burns.

This medicine can cause severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue)


Indication

Zinc oxide ointment is used to prevent and treat diaper rash. It can also effective in the treatment of minor skin irritations (eg, cuts, burns, and scrapes, poison ivy).

It acts by providing a skin barrier to prevent and help heal skin irritation.


Precautions

You should consult your doctor before taking this medicine if:
