Heart troubles: what are the reasons and the way out?

08.09.11

Heart troubles remain the leading reason of mortality all over the world. Diseases of heart-vascular system are widespread, however many of them haven't any effect, till it becomes too late.

According to the statistics of the American cardio association, about 34,3 % of the people in the world die because of heart troubles, and almost half of them die earlier than 65 years old. However if disease is diagnosed in time, the prognosis can be favorable enough.

Among major factors of risk of the development of heart troubles and vessels are singled out the heredity, age, smoking and drinking habits, hypertension and high level of cholesterol, sedentary lifestyle, adiposity and diabetes.

More often hypertonia, vasoconstriction leading to ischemia, an infection and congenital heart disease become the reason of heart troubles. The symptoms of the problems with heart-vascular system, as a rule, come out because of disturbances of misperfusion, correctness of reduction of a cardiac muscle or cardiac rhythm. Usually the heart diseases are evident when the person feels discomfort and weakness, undue fatigability, livor (it gets a bluish shade), a loss of consciousness, blood pressure change, difficulties with breath or chest pain.

If the problem is a consequence of hypertonia, as a rule, the medicines normalizing arterial blood pressure (beta-blockers, blockers of calcium channels etc.) are prescribed to the patient. If the reason of the disease is luminal narrowing of blood-vessel, the plastic operation on vessels or heart bypass can be done if it should be needed for the patient. The surgical intervention is also recommended in the case of congenital heart disease. When a person has the heart diseases caused by diabetes or raised level of cholesterol, treatment first of all is referred to the already mentioned illnesses to prevent possible complications.

Eutrophy and the healthy way of life are the basic methods of preventative measures of cardiovascular diseases. You should include more vegetables, fruit and fish into your nutrient budget, do physical exercises, give up drinking and smoking, control your weight, blood pressure and the level of cholesterol, learn to cope with stress and if something disturbs you, you should consult your attending physician.
