The German scientists know the secret of being young
The scientists of the Jena University in Germany know how to look younger without plastic surgery. If you want to look younger you should surround yourself with older people. As an experiment, look at 2 people, one of them is young and the other is old, the young person will look much younger than a person next to him/her .
Dr. Holger Wiese thinks that people can easily guess the age of the person next to them. Participants of this research were systematically mistaken evaluating the age of other people after having looked at the faces of people of a specific age group. When participant observed many faces of elderly people first, he evaluated the face of a middle aged person significantly younger. And, on the contrary, after observing younger faces the middle aged face was evaluated as being significantly older.
These effects of age perception appear independently of the person's age and sex, it means that the process is not a completely independent. When people evaluated the faces of the same sex the after-effects of age perception became stronger.
The scientists at Jena University used the most modern digital image editing techniques and a data bank of faces without any make-up and with distracting elements having been touched up. The first participants were students. Older people also took part in that research.
Stefan Schweinberger concluded that they may change the subjective perception of a face.They do not know how long these effects last. The most important factor for our perception of other people is the age of the person next to you.
