Five advices to lose weight before New Year

The most common problem is how to lose weight on the eve of New Year. The researchers at Temple's Center for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) work year-round to study the treatment and prevention of obesity. There are 5 advices to lose weight throughout the year.
You should have a support, because it is very difficult to lose weight alone. According to research led by Melissa Napolitano, an associate professor of kinesiology and a clinical psychologist at CORE, college-age women who were invited to a private Facebook page and received daily, personalized text messages with information on nutrition and exercise, lost more weight than those who had no extra support.
You should sleep more than 7 hours. It could be affecting our ability to lose weight. Scientists researched whether people who sleep less than 7 hours a night can lose more weight by extending their sleep by just 1 hour. Results showed the obese and overweight people are unable to lose weight without the proper amount of sleep that can be difficult.
Low-carb or low-fat diet? The scientists studied 300 people, half of them had a low-carb diet and the other half- low-fat diet. All the participants attended a support group to learn about healthy eating and exercise. At the end of the study both groups had lost nearly identical amounts of weight. This study shows us that people wanting to lose their weight should be less concerned with which diet they choose and more concerned with incorporating behavioral changes into their plan.
Robert Whitaker, a professor of pediatrics and public health at CORE, believes that household routines can reduce the risk of obesity in children. According to Whitaker's study children who had a healthy sleep, watched less TV and often had dinner with their families had a low risk of developing obesity later in life.
You should make weight loss a family affair. Healthy lifestyle for weight loss is effective not only for adults, but also for children. A program that helps mothers learn strategies to promote healthy eating behaviors to their children exists.
